Background

The project aims to develop a simple and widely available laboratory test for evaluating diesel fuels with regard to their tendency to form deposits inside common rail injectors. In particular, deposits formed under the influence of unsuitable additives/additive combinations are to be investigated. In order to make the laboratory test method available quickly, the test is to be based on commercially available equipment systems for generating and evaluating (JFTOT device, layer thickness measurement systems) the deposits.
